Trowbridge Town 3 - 2 Marlborough Town

League - Wiltshire Football League Premier Division
Saturday, September 2nd, 2000, 3:00 PM
Trowbridge used their "get out of jail free card" today. With Marlborough 2-0 up at half time many would have written off the possibility of a comeback but when John Taylor came on as substitute in the second half, everything changed. Trowbridge should have taken the lead early on when Neil Kirkpatrick headed wide with only the keeper to beat. The other main chance for Trowbridge in the first half saw Chris Tricker one-on-one with the keeper but unlike Thursday evening Chris failed to slot the ball home. It was Tricker though, that started the comeback with a goal from close range after the ball rebounded from the Marlborough goal keeper. Tricker was involved again with the equaliser crossing the ball to John Taylor who just managed to get the ball first. With time running out Chris Tricker proved it was his day again scoring from close range to turn one point into three.
